These Terms of Use and Conditions set out the rules which apply to the Pressroom and its Services and Content that we make available to Users. The Users (also referred to herein as “You”, “Your” or “Yours”) should read these Terms of Use and Conditions carefully as, amongst other things, they clarify the limitations of our liability to them and governs the agreement between them and us. If the Users do not agree to these Terms of Use and Conditions, they must not use the website, the Content, or the Services.

  • Acceptance of our terms

By accessing or using the Save Our Seas Foundation Pressroom (SOSF) hereinafter referred to as the “Website”, you are acknowledging that you have read, understood, and agreed, without limitation or qualification, to be bound by these Terms. In addition, certain additional rules are specific to individual Services, such as the Privacy Policy (see below : “B”) and any such rules shall be published on the Website and shall be deemed incorporated into the Terms of Use and Conditions (together with any other schedules, appendices or exhibits incorporated by reference and links in these terms of use and conditions, collectively referred to herein as “Terms”).

  • Definitions

“Content” means all content, information, text, materials, names, images, illustrations and visual representations (including, without limitation, from our partners, affiliates, contractors, employees and representatives) appearing on our website or made available by us in any format.

“Services” means the services such as the access, software, tools, support and Content provided to Users via the Website.

“SOSF” means Save Our Seas Foundation

“Website” means the Save Our Seas Foundation online Pressroom with its directly appertaining and inherent webpages.


In order to access the Press Room, you must have accepted our Terms. The Save Our Seas Foundation reserves the right to block access to the Website from a particular Internet address or block of Internet addresses.

All items of Content are available for use free of charge and may (i) be reproduced either in their entirety or in excerpted form, and captioned by the User solely for editorial use within such User’s editorial products (i.e. video news stories, print articles, etc.), and (ii) transmitted, distributed, publicly performed and displayed anywhere in the world as part of such User’s editorial products by internet, satellite or other means of distributions, including broadcast, cablecast, web cast, display in web content radio, print or other information distribution systems. Content which is not incorporated in into a User’s editorial product may not be stored in any temporary or permanent electronic database for future use or for other purposes unless agreed to in writing by SOSF. However, editorial products which contain Content may be archived as part of normal archival processes. Users may not use any content for promotion or advertising of any product or services other than the editorial product into which the Content is incorporated.

Use of the Content in any manner other than expressly permitted above requires the prior written consent of SOSF.

All text on this website (unless specifically otherwise stated on the relevant page) falls under a Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 License. This means you are free to copy, share and adapt our text as long as you link back to our website, and preferably the relevant page, as a source.

All images and video on this website (unless otherwise stated in specific caption or page text – please also see special licensing info below for Photo Stories on the Photography page) fall under a Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial No Derivatives 3.0 License. This means you are free to copy and share our images and video for noncommercial purposes as long as you link back to our website, and preferably the relevant page, as a source and do not adapt, change or edit the image or video. Please note that we occasionally use images on our site that belong to others so some images may have their own specific licensing requirements indicated on the relevant page.

All images in photo stories on the Photography page may not be reused or reproduced elsewhere unless they appear in the blog. For specific licensing options please use the contact form.

All publications, e-books and printable pdf’s on this website (unless otherwise stated in specific document, caption or page text) fall under a Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial No Derivatives 3.0 License. You may not remove any copyright or other intellectual property notices contained in the Content.

The trademarks, logos and any other distinctive character displayed on the Press Room and the Content (the “Marks”) are owned by SOSF and may be displayed or otherwise used by you only as part of the editorial products which incorporated such Marks within the Content. All other uses require the prior written consent of SOSF.


SOSF provides the Press Room, the content and its services “as is” and without any warranty, express or implied, to the full extent permitted by the applicable law. SOSF does not warrant that the content is always accurate, complete, reliable, current, or error-free.
